Adil Rashid crossed the milestone of 200 wickets in ODI cricket.
In the second ODI between England and Australia at Headingley, veteran spinner Adil Rashid created history by taking his 200th ODI wicket.
Rashid achieved this milestone by dismissing Glenn Maxwell for 7 runs in the 28th over. Maxwell tried to hit Rashid for a powerful six but the ball went straight to deep mid-wicket where he was easily caught.
Rashid is now England’s leading spinner in ODIs, along with Moeen Ali (111) and Graeme Swann (104), the only spinners to take more than 100 wickets in men’s ODIs. Sophie Ecclestone has also taken 100 ODI wickets for the women’s team.
Rashid made his ODI debut in 2009 but had to wait almost six years to play again. After his return, he became a key player in white-ball cricket and formed a strong spin partnership with Moeen Ali.
