Pakistan batsman Babar Azam creates new history in T20 cricket.
Babar Azam has completed the fastest 11,000 runs in his T20 career. The Pakistani batsman completed this milestone by taking the 11th run in the innings against South Africa.
Babar Azam became the first batsman in the world to achieve this feat in less than 300 innings. Babar Azam crossed the milestone of 11,000 T20 runs in 298 innings.
Earlier, West Indies’ Chris Gayle completed 11,000 T20 runs in 314 innings.
Babar Azam also holds the record for completing 7,000, 9,000 and 10,000 runs in the least innings.
Babar Azam is the second Pakistani and the eleventh player overall to complete 11,000 runs in T20Is. Before Babar, Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales and Virat Kohli have all achieved the feat.
David Warner, Jos Buttler, Rohit Sharma, Aaron Finch and James Vince have also completed 11,000 runs in T20Is.
Babar Azam also completed 26,000 runs in professional cricket during the innings.
