Today’s opening in the first hour of the third day at the Pindi Cricket Stadium was a nightmare for Bangladesh, with six batters returning to the pavilion for 26 runs.
Khurram Shahzad took the wickets of opening pair Zakir Hasan (1), Shadman Islam (10), captain Najamul Hasan Shinto (4) and Shakib ul Hasan (2). At the same time, Mir Hamzah said that Mushfiqur Rahman, the hero of the first Test match, only got three wickets. He also limited the runs and walked Mominul Haq for one run.
After Bangladesh lost six wickets for 26 runs and all the qualified batsmen were out, the visiting team was afraid of a follow-on, but wicketkeeper-batten Litan Das and all-rounder Mehdi Hasan Miraz supported Bangladesh’s dribbling. Despite losing eight wickets for 193 runs, Latin Das remained steadfast and scored a magnificent century. He completed the century with a total of 171.
Liton Das and Mehdi Hasan made a partnership of 165 runs. All-rounder Mehdi Hasan scored 78 runs, while Liton Das played a responsible innings of 138 runs.
Fast bowler Rukhram Shehzad took six wickets with devastating bowling, Mir Hamza took two, and Salman Ali Agha took one wicket.
Earlier, after the rain on the first day of the match, the Pakistan team was bowled out for 274 runs on the second day.
On behalf of Pakistan, captain Shaan Masood, Saeem Ayub and Salman Ali Agha scored half-centuries, but the batters could only play a short inning. Babar Azam’s streak of failure extended once again, and he could not extend his innings beyond 31 runs, while Mohammad Rizwan also returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs.
Mehdi Hasan Miraz played an essential role in destroying Pakistan’s batting line, dismissing five players for 61 runs while Tasin Ahmad took three wickets. Shakib Al Hasan and Naheed Rana got one wicket each.
Bangladesh has an unbeaten one-nil lead in the two-Test series. In the first Test match, the visiting team outclassed Pakistan in every department and won a historic victory by ten wickets.
