Australia has suffered a major setback ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury.
According to Cricket Australia, Marsh had been experiencing back discomfort for the past few days, and despite undergoing rehabilitation, his condition did not improve. As a result, he will no longer be part of the squad for the prestigious tournament.
Cricket Australia further stated that Marsh will require additional rest and rehabilitation, while his replacement will be announced soon.
It is worth noting that the deadline for finalizing the Champions Trophy squad is February 12.
