The series between England and New Zealand has been named the Crowe Thorpe Trophy.
The 3-Test series between the two teams will begin in Christchurch from November 28, with the second Test on December 6 and the third Test on December 14.
The series trophy is named after England’s Graham Thorpe and New Zealand’s Martin Crowe, and is made from the wood of the bats of both the late cricketers.
The trophy features the bats that Tharp scored against New Zealand and Martin Crowe against England, while the families of both players donated the bats to make the trophy.
It should be noted that both players were considered among the best batsmen of their era, Graham Thorpe passed away this year and Martin Crowe in 2016.
