Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured a crucial three-wicket victory over St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in a bottom-of-the-table clash in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026, chasing down 188 with three balls to spare.
Patriots posted 187 for 6 after being asked to bat first by Falcons captain Moeen Ali. Kyle Mayers and Andre Fletcher gave their side a solid start, putting on 57 for the second wicket. Mayers scored 34, while Fletcher made 20 from 24 balls.
However, Patriots struggled to maintain momentum through the middle overs and slipped to 80 for 4 after 11 overs. Their innings was rescued by a sensational late assault from Dasun Shanaka.
Shanaka smashed an unbeaten 49 off just 17 balls, including five fours and four sixes. He added valuable partnerships with Jason Holder and Wanindu Hasaranga to lift Patriots to a competitive total of 187 for 6.
In reply, Falcons lost Amir Jangoo in the opening over, but Evin Lewis and Karima Gore steadied the innings with a 34-run partnership. Lewis then combined with Hasan Nawaz for 78 runs, keeping the chase on track.
Lewis fell for 48 from 38 balls in the 14th over, followed soon after by Nawaz for 33 off 28. With Falcons still needing 74 runs from the final six overs, Shadab Khan produced a vital cameo of 30 from just 12 balls.
Moeen Ali then finished the chase with an unbeaten 25 off 12 deliveries, while Shamar Springer contributed a quick 15 from six balls.
Falcons reached 191 for 7 with three balls remaining to complete a three-wicket win. The result lifted Antigua and Barbuda Falcons to fourth place on the seven-team CPL table, while St Kitts and Nevis Patriots remained at the bottom.
