Former England player Collingwood has predicted England and West Indies to reach the final. Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden and former England all-rounder Paul Collingwood predicted the T20 World Cup 2024 finalists on an Indian sports channel.
According to details, Collingwood predicted England and West Indies would reach the final, while Matthew Hayden picked Australia and India. “My top two teams are England and West Indies, I think both of them will go to the final,” he said.
On the other hand, former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh, who is T20 World Cup ambassador, also shared his predictions, hoping that India and West Indies, or possibly Pakistan, could reach the final.
Yuvraj Singh stressed that India needs to believe in themselves to win the tournament. “I believe we have the confidence to win big tournaments. I think if India believe and believe in themselves and play to their strengths, I believe they will go to the finals,” he said. And that’s what I believe.”
Yuvraj Singh said, “I think that’s why we won. We focused on how we were good and what we had to do instead of thinking about how the opposition could hurt us. We have Match-winners as the players.”
The ICC mega-tournament opened on June 1, with host USA winning against Canada.
The 20 teams participating in the event will be divided into four groups, with the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Eight stage. The Super Eight will be divided into two groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals.
