Cricket fans might witness up to three thrilling India-Pakistan clashes in the 2025 Asia Cup, which is set to be played in the T20 format this September. The tournament, featuring 19 matches, is expected to take place between the second and fourth week of the month at a neutral venue, with Sri Lanka and the UAE emerging as frontrunners.
Originally scheduled to be hosted by India, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) opted for a neutral location due to political tensions. Despite the change, the BCCI will retain its role as the official host.
The tournament format guarantees at least one Pakistan-India match in the group stage. If both teams advance to the Super Four, they will meet again, and a potential third showdown could take place in the final.
Eight teams, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman, and Hong Kong, will compete, while Nepal, which featured in the 2023 edition, has not qualified.
With matches likely to be scheduled in the evening to avoid extreme heat, the 2025 Asia Cup is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated cricket events of the year.
