The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced three new champions tournaments in the domestic cricket season 2024-25.
The three formats of the Champions Tournaments will be Champions Cup ODI, Champions Cup T20 and Champions First Class Cup.
In this regard, Chairman BCB Mohsin Naqvi said that these tournaments aim to bring our cricket to international standards because there is a big gap between domestic and international, so the domestic Champions Cup will be held yearly.
Chairman PCB added that our current ranking does not reflect Pakistan’s true potential, so we have to restore the original position. I am very optimistic about the future of Pakistan cricket.
He said that five teams will participate in the Champions Cup in which international players will also play; Champions Cup ODI, Champions Cup T20 and Champions First Class Cup will be held in all three formats.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the number of first-class and other matches will increase in the new domestic season, and the remuneration and match fees for domestic players will also increase.
He said that it had been a few months since I came, and Pakistan’s domestic structure was proper, so there was no need to change it.
Chairman PCB said that the chief selector should select the players based on merit and that the best players should be selected. Time will tell how much I know about cricket, but the target is to improve cricket, and I have told Sana Mir to come and women. Work for cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the remuneration and match fees of the domestic players have also been increased. The category one player will get 5.5 lakh rupees, compared to 3 lakh rupees in the previous season.
The new season will begin on September 1 with the Champions Cup ODI tournament.
