Security has been increased in New York due to the threat of terrorism in the T20 World Cup starting from June 1 in USA and West Indies.
An alarming report has come out regarding the Pakistan-India match scheduled in the International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 World Cup 2024, according to which there is a threat of terrorism before the match. According to the report, the New York administration has increased the security of the stadium.
A statement from the Governor’s office in New York said, “The situation is being continuously monitored, but there is no threat to public safety at this time.”
According to the Governor’s office spokesperson, the administration is working closely with law enforcement authorities, and public safety is our top priority. He said that we are determined that the T20 World Cup will be safe and memorable.
It should be remembered that in this mega event, the India-Pakistan clash is scheduled in New York on June 9.
Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, located about 25 miles east of Manhattan, will host eight matches from June 3 to June 12, including the highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan.
It should be remembered that the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup under the auspices of the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be played in the West Indies and the United States from June 1 to 29.
T20 World Cup groups:
Pakistan, India, Canada, Ireland, USA, England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, Oman, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea, Uganda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and the Netherlands are participating in the T20 World Cup 2024.
These teams are divided into four different groups of five each.
Group A: Pakistan, India, Canada, Ireland, and the USA.
Group B: England, Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman
Group C: New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan, Papua New Guinea and Uganda.
Group D: South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and the Netherlands.
