While announcing his retirement on social media, Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan said it is a relief to say goodbye to this journey of cricket, in which he played a lot for his country.
“I tell myself not to be sad that I won’t play for the country again; I am thankful to BCCI for giving me the opportunity,” he said.
The legendary cricketer said, “I am happy to have played for my country, and it is the biggest thing for me that I have served my country.”
He added that, while I always had only one goal: to play for India, and that happened, today I stand at a point where looking back is just memories, and looking ahead is the whole world.
