The fourth edition of Canada’s Global T20 League will be held from July 25 to August 11 this month, but the International Cricket Council (ICC) has yet to approve the event.
According to media reports, the organizers say the Canada Cricket Board still needs to pay its dues, so the league was not sanctioned.
There have been reports of suspicious activities and investigations into the franchise owner from India, with potentially sensational details expected to emerge in the coming days.
The ICC has maintained its policy of not commenting on such matters.
Many big names of the Pakistani team are waiting for the No Objection Letter (NOC) to participate in the event, including fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Amir.
However, the PCB has yet to issue NOCs to the players for the event, citing the ICC’s non-sanction of the tournament.
Earlier, the board announced that considering the players’ work management, it would allow them to participate in limited leagues, but the complete details have not been revealed yet.
