15 Bangladeshi cricketers have been arrested in Malaysia after authorities denied them entry into the country. The players were reportedly traveling to participate in a cricket tournament, but officials discovered that no such event existed, leading to their detention.
According to reports, Malaysia’s Border Control and Protection Agency carried out the operation, arresting the players on March 17 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The cricketers had claimed they were set to compete in a Penang Cricket Association tournament, but investigations revealed that no such tournament was scheduled.
Media sources state that the players believed they were traveling for a competition set to take place between March 21 and 23, but authorities found no record of the event. Legal proceedings are now underway to investigate the matter further.
