The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the 17-member national squad for the Test series against Bangladesh, with Shaun Masood as the captain and Saud Shakeel as the vice-captain.
According to a statement issued by the PCB, Saud Shakeel has been appointed vice-captain in place of Shaheen Shah Afridi in what will be Jason Gillespie’s first Test series as the Red Ball head coach.
Muhammad Harira, Kamran Ghulam and Muhammad Ali have been included in the squad based on their performance in domestic cricket.
The 17-member national squad includes Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Kamran Ghulam, Khurram Shahzad, Mir Hamza, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Harira, Muhammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfraz Ahmed and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
The Pakistan Test team camp will start on August 11 in Rawalpindi; head coach Jason Gillespie and assistant coach Azhar Mehmood will supervise the camp, and the Bangladesh cricket team will arrive in Islamabad on August 17.
It should be noted that the first Test match of the series will be played from August 21 to 25 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, while the second Test will be played in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
