Australia chased down the target of 155 runs in just 9.4 overs to win the match by seven wickets and set new world records.
Australia scored 113 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in 6 overs of Powerplay, which was the second-highest score ever. The world record for the highest score in Powerplay is held by Romania against Serbia in 2021, which is 116 runs without loss in just 5.4 overs.
When Australia achieved the target, were still 62 balls left in the match, which is the world record for most balls remaining in a target of over 150 runs.
The record was previously held by Romania, which set a target of 158 runs in 12.5 overs against Greece in 2021 and achieved it with 43 balls left in the match.
This is the highest target achieved within 10 overs, while Travis Head’s 73 runs in a pour play is the highest individual score by any player in T20 Internationals.
Travis Head hit 16 boundaries in the Powerplay, the most boundaries ever hit by any player in the Powerplay. The record was previously held by New Zealand’s Colin Munro against the West Indies in 2015 when 14 boundaries were hit.
Australia hit 24 boundaries in the Powerplay, a record in international cricket previously held by Romania, who hit 21 boundaries.
