The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has chosen the United Arab Emirates as the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy.
According to PCB spokesperson Amir Mir, the PCB has officially informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about the neutral venue.
The PCB spokesperson said that now India’s Champions Trophy matches will be held in the UAE.
The PCB said that the neutral venue for the Champions Trophy was to be decided by the host Pakistan and the final decision on the venue was made after a meeting between Mohsin Naqvi and Sheikh Nahyan.
According to the PCB, Sheikh Nahyan, who is in Pakistan, is also the chairman of the UAE Cricket Board.
It should be noted that the schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in February 2025 has not been officially announced yet, however, according to the possible schedule that has emerged, the first match of the tournament will be held on February 19 between Pakistan and New Zealand in Karachi, while the match between Pakistan and India will be held on February 23 at a neutral venue.
According to the schedule, Karachi and Rawalpindi will host three matches each, five matches including a semi-final and a final will be held in Lahore, and one semi-final will be held in the UAE.
