Highlighting a significant milestone for India’s star batsman Virat Kohli, Younis Khan demanded the Indian team to tour Pakistan. The former national team captain says that we all will feel great if Kohli comes here.
According to the details, the former national cricket team captain, Younis Khan, has appealed to the famous Indian batsman Virat Kohli to come to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy 2025.
The Indian team’s participation in the Champions Trophy, which will be held in Pakistan next year, is uncertain due to the Indian Cricket Board’s (BCCI) strict stance against sending its players to Pakistan.
However, Younis Khan emphasized that the only milestone left in Kohli’s illustrious career is to play and perform in Pakistan.
It may be remembered that Virat Kohli came to Pakistan with India’s Under-19 team in 2006, but he has yet to play a match with the senior team here. Kohli has faced Pakistan in several ICC tournaments and the exact matches. He has also set many records against Pakistan.
Talking to private media, Younis Khan said, ‘ Virat Kohli should come here and perform as he should. There is only one feather left in the royal crown of his career that he did not play in Pakistan if he will come. So we’ll all feel great.’
India last played a bilateral cricket series with Pakistan in 2012 due to political tensions between the two countries.
On the other hand, there is speculation that India wants to play its Champions Trophy matches at a neutral venue instead of Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now asked the ICC to convince the Indian Cricket Board to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
PCB sources revealed that during the recent ICC meetings in Colombo, the budget for the Champions Trophy was approved, but the schedule and format of the tournament still needed to be discussed. ̔
Still, the arrival of the Indian cricket team in Pakistan is uncertain, given that it would not be wrong to say that perhaps cricket fans will never be able to see Kohli play a match in Pakistan.
Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from T20 cricket and is now focusing on ODIs, Test matches and IPL.
