Pakistan’s reserve wicketkeeper for the South Africa tour, Haseebullah, has been ruled out of the upcoming two-match Test series against the West Indies. The 21-year-old, from Pishin, suffered an injury to his hand after being struck by the ball, requiring stitches. As a result, he will not be available for the series.
Haseebullah, who has played one ODI and three T20Is for Pakistan, was the second wicketkeeper in the 15-member squad alongside Mohammad Rizwan during the South Africa tour. He is considered an emerging talent, known for his left-handed batting.
Haseebullah made his debut on January 21, 2024, in Christchurch, playing as an opening batter under Shaheen Shah Afridi’s leadership in his first T20I. Later, on November 24, 2024, in Blantyre, he played his first international ODI under Mohammad Rizwan’s leadership as a batter.
Haseebullah was also part of Pakistan’s white-ball squad during the tours of Australia and Zimbabwe, but he was limited to the Test team during the South Africa tour.
