South African pacer Kagiso Rabada broke the record of Pakistani legend fast bowler Waqar Younis for the fastest 300 wickets in Test matches.
Kagiso Rabada became the sixth bowler from South Africa to take 300 wickets in Test cricket, while Pacers also took the honour of the bowler who crossed the milestone of three hundred wickets in the shortest number of matches in the history of Test cricket.
In the Test match against Bangladesh in Mirpur, Kagiso Rabada showed excellent bowling and achieved this unique feat by taking three wickets for just 26 runs in 11 overs.
For South Africa, previous legend fast bowlers Dale Steyn, Sean Pollock, Mukhaya Antini, Alan Donald and Morne Morkel hold the honour of taking over 300 wickets.
Among the current six bowlers playing Test cricket who have scored 300 or more wickets in five-day matches, India’s Ravinder Jadeja recently marked this milestone.
Rabadad bowled 11,817 deliveries to make this record in Test cricket, while Pakistan’s Waqar Younis bowled 12,602 to get 300 wickets.
After his brilliant bowling in Mirpur, Rabada took the record for the fastest 300 Test wickets from Waqar Younis, while he was also the second fastest bowler to take 250 wickets in Test cricket.
He got his 300th Test wicket by dismissing Mushfiqur Rahim; due to his and other South African bowlers’ devastating bowling, Bangladesh were bowled out for 106 runs in the first innings of the Mirpur Test.
