The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will soon unveil the new central contract of the national players. Several prominent cricketers are likely to be downgraded in categories but will not see a reduction in salaries.
According to media reports, fast bowler Naseem Shah will be promoted to Category A, after which he will join the elite group of players like Naseem Shah, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan. This will be an essential step in his career, while leg-spinner Shadab Khan may be demoted in the category.
In the same way, the category of many famous cricketers will also be reduced, but the salaries of no player will be reduced, the central contract for Muhammad Nawaz and Imad Wasim seems impossible, while the openers Imamul Haq and Fakhar Zaman will play in two formats. Category B status is likely to be retained due to
Test captain Shan Masood will likely remain in Category B, with the most significant changes expected in Category D, where the number of players could be reduced.
Earlier, the board had refused to give NOC to three Pakistan cricketers, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan, to play in the leagues due to the future tour program.
