The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The squad includes four changes from the team that last played an ODI series in South Africa last year.
Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Irfan Khan, Saim Ayub, and Sufiyan Muqeem have been replaced by Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khushdil Shah, and Saud Shakeel.
Squad Composition
The squad consists of a mix of experienced and young players, covering all aspects of the game.
- Batters: Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Kamran Ghulam, Saud Shakeel, and Tayyab Tahir.
- All-rounders: Faheem Ashraf, Khushdil Shah, and Salman Ali Agha (vice-captain).
- Wicketkeeper-batters: Mohammad Rizwan (captain) and Usman Khan.
- Bowlers: Spinner Abrar Ahmed, along with pacers Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
With Mohammad Rizwan leading the squad as captain, Pakistan aims to put up a strong performance in the Champions Trophy. The inclusion of experienced players like Fakhar Zaman and Faheem Ashraf alongside emerging talents ensures a well-balanced side for the prestigious tournament.
