Pakistan’s domestic cricketers will face a major financial setback as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has slashed match fees for the upcoming National T20 Cup by 75%. Players who previously earned PKR 40,000 per match will now receive only PKR 10,000.
PCB officials defended the decision, citing an increase in the number of domestic tournaments, which they claim will allow players to earn more overall across the season. However, the drastic pay cut has raised concerns about financial sustainability for domestic cricketers as the National T20 Cup kicks off on Friday with 18 teams from 16 regions.
