The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the 15-man squad for the first Test against England in Multan from October 7 to 11.
Following the announcement of the squad, selected players have been withdrawn from the Champions ODI Cup play-offs at the suggestion of head coach Jason Gillespie to give them some rest ahead of the series.
The squad will assemble in Multan on Monday, September 30, where the training camp will begin on October 1. Shaan Masood will lead the Pakistan team, while Saud Shakeel will be the vice-captain.
The squad includes Amir Jamal, Abdullah Shafiq, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Hurira, Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Naseem Shah, Nouman Ali, Saeem Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Sarfaraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper) and Shaheen Shah Afridi. are also included.
Left-arm spinner Nauman Ali, who has taken 47 wickets in 15 Test matches, has replaced fast bowler Khurram Shahzad, who is injured.
