Pakistan may have ended at the bottom of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 standings, but the team will still receive a financial reward from the tournament’s record prize pool.
Despite a disappointing campaign that saw Pakistan finish ninth in the table, the team will take home USD 480,000. The total prize money for this WTC cycle stands at a record $5.76 million—the highest ever in the tournament’s history.
The final of the third WTC cycle is set to take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15, 2025, where South Africa and Australia will face off for the title.
While Pakistan earned the smallest share of the prize pool, the $480,000 is still a significant amount, offering a silver lining to an otherwise underwhelming Test campaign.

The current prize pool is more than double that of the previous two editions. In both 2021 and 2023, the WTC winners received $1.6 million. In contrast, the 2025 champions will walk away with $3.6 million, and the runners-up will collect $2.16 million.
This significant increase in prize money reflects the ICC’s renewed push to enhance the value and visibility of Test cricket, at a time when T20 and other limited-overs formats are dominating global viewership and financial investment.
