The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 is set to resume on May 17 after a temporary suspension caused by escalating tensions between Pakistan and India. The announcement was made by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday.
According to the PCB, eight matches will be played starting May 17, with the final scheduled for May 25. The decision to resume the tournament comes in the wake of a ceasefire agreement between the two neighboring countries, which has helped stabilize the situation and ensure a safer environment for the league to continue.
In a social media statement, Naqvi said, “PSL X picks up from where it left off! Six teams, zero fear. Let the aura take over as we unite and celebrate the spirit of cricket.”
All six franchises will return to action, and preparations are currently underway to ensure tight security and smooth operations at all venues. Fans across the country have welcomed the decision and are eagerly anticipating the league’s return.
The PSL was officially postponed on May 8, just ahead of the 27th match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi. The suspension came after a deadly border clash that resulted in the loss of 51 Pakistani lives, including 40 civilians and 11 security personnel. The incident also saw an Indian drone reportedly crash near the stadium on the same day, heightening security concerns.
Initially, the PCB considered shifting the remaining matches to Dubai, but the plan was shelved following government advisories. With the ceasefire now holding firm, the board has opted to complete the tournament on home soil.
The resumption of PSL 10 is being seen as a symbol of resilience and unity, with cricket once again bringing the nation together after a period of grief and uncertainty.
