South Africa will be without their star fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for the three-match ODI series against Australia, starting on August 19 in Cairns.
The 30-year-old pacer was ruled out after a scan on Monday confirmed inflammation in his right ankle. Cricket South Africa said Rabada will stay in Australia to undergo rehabilitation under the supervision of the team’s medical staff.
In his absence, South Africa are set to rely on the pace attack of Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger and Wiaan Mulder for the opening match. The second and third ODIs are scheduled for August 22 and 24 in McKay.
