USA Cricket (USAC) is facing legal action from incumbent director Atul Rai and terminated directors Kuljit Nijjar, Arjun Gona, and Patricia Whittaker.
They are suing USAC and its current board members—Venu Pisike, Srini Salver, Pintoo Shah, David Haubert, Nadia Gruny, and Anj Balusu—accusing them of governance misconduct, including manipulating the membership registration system ahead of upcoming elections.
The lawsuit, filed in Boulder County, Colorado, also highlights USAC’s failure to hold elections after the terms of Salver and Gruny expired, and its non-compliance with USOPC guidelines for forming the Athlete Advisory Committee. The legal action comes at a critical time for USAC, following an ICC suspension notice and growing concerns over its internal dysfunction.
The plaintiffs seek the removal of current board members and the reinstatement of the terminated directors, along with a voiding of the upcoming elections.
