Zimbabwe will host Sri Lanka for a white-ball series featuring two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is), beginning on August 29, 2025. All matches are scheduled to take place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
The T20I series holds added importance for Zimbabwe as it will serve as vital preparation ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final. The regional qualifier, set to begin on September 19 and also hosted in Zimbabwe, offers a key opportunity for the Chevrons to earn a place in the 2027 T20 World Cup.
“We are delighted to confirm Sri Lanka’s visit to Zimbabwe for what we expect to be a thrilling and competitive series,” said Givemore Makoni, Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket. “Matches between our two nations have always produced entertaining cricket and this tour comes at a crucial time for our team as we prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup qualifying campaign.”
The Sri Lanka series kicks off a busy three-month schedule for Zimbabwe, which includes hosting South Africa and New Zealand for various formats. Zimbabwe will play a two-match Test series against South Africa, followed by a T20I tri-series involving all three nations.
Sri Lanka are currently involved in the ICC World Test Championship, playing a home series against Bangladesh. After their Test commitments, they will travel to Zimbabwe for three ODIs and three T20Is.
The two teams last met in January 2024, when Sri Lanka secured a 2-0 win in a three-match ODI series at home. The squads for the upcoming tour are yet to be announced.
