Babar Azam who is known as the backbone of the Pakistan cricket team’s batting order and known for his batting style was born in Lahore on October 15, 1994.
Early life:
Babar was born into a middle-class family with very few resources but despite having financial challenges Babar’s passion for cricket drove him to excel in cricket. Babar started playing cricket at a very young age but the road to get recognition in the world of cricket was not a bed of roses.
He faces many obstacles like proper training, financial support, and many things that are necessary to become a good cricketer. Babar revealed in an interview that he had no money to buy a cricket bat but his mother raised 5,000 to buy a cricket bat for him.

Cricket Career:
Babar Azam was included in the Pakistan ODI cricket team in 2015 on a tour of Zimbabwe. In the debut match against Zimbabwe Babar Azam scored 54 runs of 60 balls. After this performance, Babar Azam was selected for the test and ODI series against Sri Lanka.
In 2016, Pakistan toured New Zealand for an ODI series in which Babar was the leading run scorer with 145 runs in two matches.
In September 2016, Pakistan played a three-match series against the West Indies. Babar Azam scored three centuries in three matches against the West Indies. Apart from this Babar was part of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 winning team. Babar scored 46 runs off 52 balls. Babar Azam has been included in the ICC team of the year four times.
Apart from this Babar Azam was the emerging player of the ICC ODI World Cup 2019. In 2021 Babar was named as ICC men’s cricketer of the year. He was also named as the captain of ICC men’s team of the year in 2022.
