Bangladesh has announced a 16-member Test squad for the tour of Pakistan.
Najamul Hasan Shanto will lead the Bangladesh Test team. The squad includes Mehmoodul Hasan, Zakir Hussain, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqul Rahim, Laton Kumar Das, Mehdi Hasan, Tejal Ul Islam, Naeem Hasan, Naheed Rana, Shariful Islam, Hasan Mahmood, and Syed Khalid Mahmood.
Fast bowler Tasin Ahmad and Awami League leader Shakibul Hasan are also part of the Bangladesh squad. According to Bangladeshi media, Shakib-ul-Hasan will arrive in Pakistan from America.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will play two test matches. The first will start on August 21 in Rawalpindi, and the second will start on August 30 in Karachi.
It should be noted that Shakib-ul-Hasan was a member of Hasina Wajid’s party, the Awami League, in the recently dissolved parliament. After the end of the Hasina Wajid government, most of the Awami League leaders went into hiding for their personal safety. That’s why the subject of Shakib-ul-Hasan was discussed in cricket circles regarding the tour of Pakistan, and there were speculations that Shakib-ul-Hasan would join the squad. Or not.
According to Bangladeshi media, given the current political situation, Shakib is still waiting to come to Dhaka. He told BCB he wanted to reach Pakistan directly from Canada instead of traveling to Pakistan with the squad in Dhaka.
