The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finalized the 12 teams participating in the T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka. The Pakistani team avoided playing in the qualifying round.
Twenty teams will participate in the upcoming T20 World Cup, divided into four groups.
India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and Ireland have managed to earn a direct place in the event. The other eight teams will participate in the tournament after the qualifying round.
It should be remembered that Pakistan could not reach the Super Eight stage of this year’s T20 World Cup, after which false statements were spread on social media and other forums claiming that the Pakistan team would have to play qualifiers for the next World Cup.
